About Us

Our Story

Brainrot Presents was founded in 2021 by a team of eight young adults collaborating on a narrative podcast, now called Mnemosyne. Our values were clear from the start; our very first meeting covered topics such as diversity and inclusivity in our characters, accessibility for our listeners, and fair wages for our workers. As we slowly but surely worked out the nitty-gritty of producing our first narrative podcast, we chose to put all our existing podcasts under a single label. After much deliberation (and many, MANY discarded names) we agreed upon the name "Brainrot Presents," and thus Brainrot Presents was born.

Our Name

"Brainrot," as defined by Urban Dictionary, is "the inability to stop thinking about a certain topic." True to our name, our podcasts revolve around that which we cannot stop thinking about, whether that be our long-held fandoms and passions, opinions on timely events, or stories, settings, and characters into which we've poured our hearts. In short, Brainrot Presents is exactly what it sounds like; a collection of podcasts, presented by our brainrot.

Our Values

Representation

We aim to make space for underrepresented artists to make content they're proud of and creating characters in which underrepresented listeners can see themselves.

Accessibility

We aim to make our podcasts available to as many listeners as possible through approachable language, free-to-use platforms, and readily-available transcripts.

Storytelling

We aim for not just our narrative fiction but also our analysis shows and bonus content to be thought-provoking, entertaining, and representative of their hosts and storytellers.

Inclusion

We aim to make intentional space for underrepresented voices in our writers' room, production meetings, and inboxes.

Our Podcasts

The cover art for the podcast Mnemosyne. It is a painting of a prisoner in an orange jumpsuit with very short brown hair faces away from the viewer. Glowing teal cursive text, like a neon sign, is plugged into nodes in their head; said text reads 'Mnemosyne.' The cover art for the podcast Overbrook. It is an illustration of a vibrant sunset over a small mining town, casting long, dark shadows and turning the sky blood red. Text across the ground in front of one of the buildings reads 'Overbrook.' The cover art for the podcast Lukewarm Takes. It is a photo of a collage of pop culture and film related things, including Iron Man's hand, the sign of the paramount theater, theater seats, a camera, and emojis of drama masks and popcorn. The photo is put through several filters that make it appear like pop art. Grungy white typewriter text, highlighted in black, reads 'Lukewarm Takes: Hot takes. But worse. A Brainrot Presents production' The cover art for the podcast Prim M's Playlist. It is a photo of a dark purple CD against a light purple background. The colors in the photo are overly saturated. Purple computer-like text with magenta and light blue highlights reads 'Prim M's Playlist: A Brainrot Presents Podcast.' The cover art for the podcast Dungeon Amateur. Scribbly block letters, as if scrawled with pencil, read 'Dungeon,' with the 'O' replaced with a D20; below it is written 'Amateur' in red pen, with the 'at' in the middle of the word written like an A+ grade. Above are pencil-like sketches of a heavily marked-up How 2 DM textbook, two tests graded out of 20, a report card featuring Dungeons and Dragons stats instead of classes, and a sword and a pencil crossed over each other. The pencil writes the words 'A Brainrot Presents Production,' with 'Production' misspelled; red pen corrects it below. The background is a photograph of lined notebook paper.
